Slingshot introduced a coordinated, city‑wide IT approach to replace the fragmented environment. The work began by creating centralized management and consistent standards that fit the needs of multiple municipal locations.
A modern server setup was built to support all city sites while still allowing certain sensitive systems to remain separate when appropriate. High‑risk systems were rebuilt and moved into this secure setup, removing reliance on aging desktop machines and unsafe configurations.
Networking across all locations was upgraded to provide modern internet service, consistent performance, reliable connections, and easier system management. Communication and collaboration tools were replaced with secure, cloud‑based services that support mobile use, syncing, and improved usability.
Security was strengthened through modern protections, secure access, managed backups, and continuous monitoring. Slingshot also introduced security awareness training—both initial and ongoing—to help staff use technology safely.
For one high-liability property, Slingshot engineered & installed a cutting-edge 14-camera 4K surveillance system, easily expandable, centrally manageable & remotely accessible by staff from any modern device.
During the transition, several long‑serving staff members who previously carried much of the IT knowledge retired. Slingshot ensured continuity by capturing institutional knowledge, documenting important information, and keeping operations stable during these staffing changes.
All phases of the work—from preparation through upgrades, moves, cutovers, and retiring old systems—were completed smoothly and with minimal disruption.
